It should be accurate. If you're seeing it as episode 1 on Monday it is likely because of timezone difference. Episode 2 should be airing on March 5th/6th depending on the timezone.

how about a feature where we can see how many people have put an anime into their watchlist
You can now see how popular an anime is from the information tab on an anime's page.
While it's good enough to actually check up on an anime's popularity from its entry information, I think he means it'd look cooler to see how many people are concurrently keeping up with certain anime in the schedule with a number floating above that entry on the schedule itself or some sort of indication. I would also agree that it'd be cool to see such a feature (it could be a toggle for those who don't want it) so that it gives you the feeling of being part of a group watch. If it were to be implemented, just showing how many people currently have it in 'Watching' would be enough, it could even give an incentive for more people to watch an anime. I wouldn't want to burden you with a request myself, but it would make the site a little sweeter knowing that you're part of a watch community.
I like the idea of a community, but I am uncertain if this is the best way to go around it. I'm also not convinced that an indicator of how many people are tracking an anime on the website will have any impact.
It doesn't have to be implemented right now. Maybe in the future when you're more confident in the idea and the site has grown larger.
