Touched by Yakumo's role as the "grim reaper," he asks the master to take him in as an apprentice.

Chizuru Yukimura, who has come to the city of Kyoto in search of her father, has been working with the Shinsengumi since she was saved from a blood-seeking monster. Then, in June of the first year of Keio, the Shinsengumi moved to Nishi Honganji Temple to continue their patrol of Kyoto, and received reports of the frequent appearance of "bandits who assume the name of Shinsengumi. At the same time, Shinsengumi is order to protect the Shogun Iemochi who will visit Kyoto, and Hijikata and the others are in a hurry to solve the case.

Meanwhile, several rasetsu escape from the Shinsengumi post with the help of "a figure resembling Chizuru." In addition, Chizuru, who had gone to the city with Sakai, the treasurer, are drawn into the fray and goes missing. The Satsuma domain receives information of a plot to assassinate the Shogun by Tosa domain's ronin, and Kazama and the others head for Kyoto. Are the various incidents surrounding the Shinsengumi a coincidence? Katagiri Kanade is a hikikomori who spent her days lazing off in her room. Her specialty is her broad imagination which often leads to various wild delusions. One night a weird cowboy guy appeared in her dream, saying that he's her heart's hero. Due to his encouragement, Kanade decided to try and go have a haircut the next day. It was then when she met a mysterious guy who cut her hair in the park, giving her courage to resume her school days.

Right after her haircut, A guy approached Kanade who turned out to be her former classmate, Sudou Yukio. Kanade used to like him back then, and he was happy to meet her again. Kanade lives with her non blood-related brother, Sonomura Ikuto. Despite Ikuto's warning, Kanade went looking for the mysterious guy who cut her hair the next day. She found him in the park, where he introduced himself as Hasui Tomoomi. He's a professional hairdresser and owns a salon named Azalea nearby. Since Kanade was absent from school for so long, her homeroom teacher, Konno Chihiro, offered to help her with her studies.

Having these guys around her, what will happen to Kanade's life from now on?

Chitose-chan is a penguin who lives in Kyoto. Getting in touch with people and getting fed delicious food as she curiously walks around Kyoto streets is her favourite thing to do. The story features popular places in Kyoto like Kiyomizu Temple, Ginkaku Temple, and Gion from the Penguin's point of view. This is a short story about a penguin that is nostalgic and warm, curing and relieving the heart.

During the Taishou period of early 20th-century Japan, Haru Asagi is sent to work as a maid to support her struggling family. Second and last part of the movies that remake season 1 and 2.

The battle at Koufu Castle has been lost, the Furies are no longer restrained by daylight, and while the individual members of the Shinsengumi still survive, the links that bound them together have been torn and shattered.

As Harada, Shinpachi, and Saito try to fight their way out of Koufu, Chizuru holds true to her oath to Hijikata, standing guard over Kondou, while he and Okita fight to recover from their gunshot wounds.

And Hijikata faces the greatest test of all. Having partaken of the Water Of Life, he must now balance his humanity against a need for blood and the deeds the Fury's power makes possible.

This OVA takes place in between episodes 8 and 9 of the first season of Hakuouki.

Yukimura Chizuru goes on a reconnaissance mission in Shimabara as a geiko for the Shinsengumi. Each episode unfolds the events of the days leading up to, during, and after the operation. It intermittently reveals each captain's involvement as well as that of a few demons in the affair. Each individual episode primarily focuses from the third person perspectives of: Okita Souji, Saito Hajime, Harada Sanosuke, Toudou Heisuke, Hijikata Toshizo, and Kazama Chikage.
