Ah, well, hardcore battle shounen fans call every season with not that many battle shounen "mid". Same as they call every show that isn't a battle shounen "mid". Which is ridiculous.
Spring really had some fun shows like Apocalypse Hotel, Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Wind Breaker's second season, some went crazy over Fire Force, some were utterly happy with Old Country Bumpkin, Kowloon Generic Romance was damn great - and more. Yeah, of course there were some shows that didn't do well (personally I'm still salty about Your Forma), but we have that shows every season. So that's just a very normal season.
Oh yeah I dropped your forma on the first or second ep because it seemed wrong like it was missing something on its pacing and story and then saw people commenting that they skipped a lot of content from the source material. I've seen people saying that they rushed the start of lord of the mysteries too but I'm waiting for a JP dub because I really can't enjoy the original dub.
I enjoyed most of the ones you mentioned there just didn't watch wind breaker or fire force. I enjoyed the ending for kowloon generic romance even though it was anime only since the manga is still ongoing, I want to check the manga in the future.
I managed until episode ... 6 I think. Since I had hope that somewhere in between stuff gets explaines. Like ... you know ... we start with a shitload of questions and then we go into explanation territory. Just ... the show never reached that point somehow. Pretty sad about it because the concept was fire.
Heard many were confused with the LOM start. Personally, I think if you keep your attention, it's easy enough to follow (and quite interesting). Doesn't feel super rushed, except maybe regarding ability control. Thanks god I'm fine with Chinese.
I was a little unhappy with Kowloon's ending since it felt super rushed. Two more episodes would have helped a lot, I think. But it was well enough, and I really enjoyed the vibes! A lot.
The current season seems fine as well. Some bangers. Some anime perfect to lean back and just enjoy. Some train wrecks. Some are so full of sugar, you die of fluff. I'm content here~
Yeah this season seem pretty good for now, have 40ish on my watching list and almost every day there is something to look forward to and not just to follow.
The weekends are rough though with 20+ piled on just 2 days. But at least I'm done with the backlog for now so it's not that bad.
