My scoring system:
- 10 : "Masterpieces". Animes that I can't fault even if they have any flaws. Anime that made me laugh / feel / think deeply and I catch myself thinking about it somedays wishing I could rewatch blindly.
- 9 : These are mostly ones I wanted to score a 10 but either one or more flaws were too big for me to consider it a 10.
- 8 : Very enjoyable / strong contenders of its genre.
- 7 : Fine anime of its genre. This is my "passing grade" as I still feel I enjoyed my time with these.
- 6 : Very "mid" anime, probably only people who really enjoy genre / topics / premise would enjoy watching these. But there are redeeming qualities and I don't usually feel like any of these was a complete waste of time.
- 1-5 : The lower the score the more it physically hurt me to watch this.
I try be self aware of my biases and not give harsh scores, like preferring more chill or drama focused anime over stuff like battle shounens. I don't look out for anime to "hate watch" too.
